Company Background
Au Bon Pain got its start in Boston in 1978 when founder Louis Kane, inspired by a display of French bakery items, decided to bring fresh baked breads and croissants to Boston. In 2005 a group of veteran employees bought 75 percent of ownership. Today there are more than 250 Au Bon Pain cafes around the world from Kuwait, Japan, Thailand and South Korea to many locations in transportation centers, hotels, suburban malls, office buildings, hospitals and universities.
Community Involvement
Giving back to the places they call home, Au Bon Pain takes pride in supporting the community. Au Bon Pain partners with community organizations and charities and assists in fundraising efforts. Their Food for Life program provides food for families and individuals, in conjunction with local organizations, to provide end-of-the-day unsold bakery products.
