Exhibit: We Need More Cowbell!

Riders of the annual Tri-State Trek cycle 270 miles from Boston to New York, making noise and raising money to end ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease. A three day bicycle ride, the event takes place July 23-25 and benefits the ALS Therapy Development Institute. We need riders, we need volunteers and we need More Cowbell!

Students at The New England Institute of Art created the works on display both as independent projects and class assignments. Boston & Beyond captures the essence of Boston, from the food and cityscape to the contrasts and people who live here. Brochure designs entice visits to some of the many attractions that reflect the diversity and vitality of the Greater Boston area. Located in Brookline Village, the New England Institute of Art has been a member of Greater Boston's academic and cultural community for over 50 years, offering quality hand-on education to students in an urban environment.

The Young Entrepreneurs Project

10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Selling Event: With the support of Partners for Youth with Disabilities, the Young Entrepreneurs Project is a program that teaches business skills to students with disabilities in the Boston Public Schools. Each year students start their own for-profit business and learn about writing a business plan. With the help of mentors, these students are afforded the experiences needed to turn their lives into success stories.

Women's Craft Cooperative at Rosie's Place

National Train Day

In Massachusetts, the Recovery Act has impacted the lives of countless individuals. These are real people who have experienced real change. The people we are highlighting in our exhibit represent the thousands of people across the Commonwealth whose lives have changed for the better thanks to the Recovery Act.

Once distinguished as the busiest rail terminal in the world, the architectural masterpiece was restored in 1989 after a group of concerned citizen’s spared it from the wrecking ball. Join Linda Perlman for a 45-minute walking tour of the architecture, history and lore of this Boston icon. A limited number of tickets are available at the South Station Concierge, (617) 330-1230, with proceeds benefiting the Boston Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) Scholarship Fund. $10.00

Team In Training®

Team In Training® (TNT) is the world’s largest endurance sports training program. The program provides training to run or walk a whole or half marathon or participate in a triathlon or century (100-mile) bike ride. Participants raise funds for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma research and patient services in exchange for training, support and lodging and airfare to the event of their choice. Since TNT’s inception, 380,000 participants have raised over $750 million.
