More than a place to queue up for the trip home, South Station  also serves the community as a venue for art and entertainment. Events are always happening on the terrazzo-floored Grand Concourse from step dancing on St. Patrick's Day to the annual model train display during the holiday season. Live music fills the hall year round with performances including the classical Third Thursday series to summer concert series. Displays of artwork regularly grace the concourse and non-profit groups regularly share their good work with travelers and locals.
